Lama Tenzin in New York, Oct 2006

Lama Tenzin, the co-founder of the CED Himalayan Kids project, was in New York last week where he received knitted and crocheted gifts from All We Knit is Love. Lama Tenzin and his devoted team have done amazing things for the 19 children he has rescued from the extremely isolated and impoverished region of Dolpo in northwestern Himalayas. Today, these children are living healthy, happy lives at the CED Home in Northern India. They are getting excellent educations, proper medical attention, and as you can see from this photo , they are beaming and nourished with love. Please read more about these beautiful children on the CED website:

Here are also some photos of the orphanage, the 19 Himalayan kids, Lama Tenzin and Anna Halldorsdottir from AWKL.

Indoor Knitting Picnic

On October 8th, All We Knit is Love had an 'Indoor Knitting Picnic' in Long Island City, New York. The day's goal was to knit for 19 children of the Himalyan Kids project (see www.himalayankids.org). Participating in this project, All We Knit is Love has 9 knitters and crocheters in New York, 8 in Iceland and 1 in Scotland. We are deeply grateful for their contributions. All knitted items will be given to the co-founder of the Himalayan Kids project, Lama Tenzin, who will be visiting New York City Oct. 18th-27th. Here are a couple of photos from the 'Indoor Knitting Picnic'. IKP's are a great opportunity to catch up with friends while making a difference in a childĀ“s life. Perhaps an IKP is for you...?

The second gift is a blanket from Halldora Hafdis Arnardottir (Iceland) who sewed this gorgeous quilt for the Himalayan Kids charity. Thank you so much Patti and Halldora!
